2001 Burge Family The Renoux Shiraz Merlot Cabernet

An outstanding wine, with its fruit flavours to the forefront. Made from a blend of 45% Shiraz, 38% Merlot and 17% Cabernet. Opaque black purple crimson colour, with purple crimson hue. At this stage, of the wines cycle, the nose is restrained, but another 6 months on the bottle will see a dramatic lift. Aroma of mocha, blackcurrant, spice and dark chocolate emerge, and just as one starts to expect a subdued palate, the very opposite occurs. The flavours explode, in real fruit bomb style. Flavours of spice, black pepper and blackcurrant fill the mouth. Outstanding length, velvet smooth tannins, with a classic Barossa sense of body weight. Exceptionally long aftertaste.
