2001 Burge Family Olive Hill Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

Made from a blend of 41% Shiraz, 31% Grenache and 28% Mourvedre, the wine was matured in a combination new and 1-4 year old French oak.
A wonderful explosion of liquorice and raspberry concentrate. Totally black purple, mauve colour. Superb nose with aroma of earth, leather, plum, spice, raspberry and liquorice. The palate flavours reflect the aromatics of the nose and delivers yet another fruit bomb flavour experience from Rick Burge. Mouth filling flavours of liquorice, plum and spice. Excellent length, Fine grained tannins, quite dry yet perfectly balanced, followed by a very long aftertaste of liquorice, raspberry and black pepper.
