2001 Buckshot Vineyard Shiraz

The 2001 Buckshot Shiraz delivers an outstanding result after missing the beat slightly with the 2000 vintage. The previous winemaker has been ‘given the bullet’ and owner Rob Peebles has engaged the winemaking expertise at Domaine Chandon to create an intensely concentrated Heathcote Shiraz.

Tasting Note: Opaque black crimson colour. Superb nose, verging on being perfumed with aromas of spice, violets, plum and blackberry. The palate has plenty of weight and depth with concentrated flavours of black pepper, toasted oak, mocha and roast coffee beans emerging over a ripe plummy background. The black pepper flavours build and are perfectly counter pointed by the fruit. Perfect balance, followed by an exceptionally long mocca, blackberry and spice aftertaste.
