2001 Abbey Rock Chardonnay

This wine came across being a touch flat, with the acidity falling away. Bright straw colour. Aroma of yeast lees, biscuit and hazelnut. Creamy palate texture, slightly broad with a hint of coarseness evident on the back palate. Flavours of tropical fruit, peach and melon emerge over a subtle lees background. Soft acid finish. Aftertaste of melon, tropical fruit and lees.
