2000 Penfolds Reserve Bin 00A Chardonnay

A superb example of Chardonnay, made from fruit grown in two of Australia’s cooler regions. Penfolds are capable of making exceptional whites, but alas the marketplace considers them more as red wine makers.

Brilliant straw colour. Complex layered nose of melon, spice and fig, followed by a hint of butterscotch. Mouthfilling palate, with flavours of hazelnut and yeast lees, followed by an almond, biscuit, cashew backpalate. Very good length. Clean acid finish with citrus, melon grapefruit, nut and biscuit aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years (2006-2007)
