2000 Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz

Like the rest of the 2000 Penfolds releases, this is a full bodied flavour filled red. Matured for 12 months in American oak. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. Excellent lifted nose with aroma of vanilla, spice, plum and blackberry, displaying the qualities of generous ripe fruit with that distinctive American oak note, which remains quite evident still on the palate. Flavours of liquorice, plum and spice emerge over a blackberry background. Fine grained tannins make for a bet each way – drink now or cellar for the medium term. Dark chocolate, vanilla, liquorice aftertaste.
