2000 Ichiros 10 Year Old The Final Hanyu Japanese Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

From a now closed distillery, shut down in 2000, the final vintage of which was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2010. Only 349 bottles produced. Very limited stocks.

Tasting note: [Cask 6093 tasted] Deep gold colour. Powerful scents of brine, fruit cake, cocoa and roasted nuts. Huge palate delivers a whack to the mouth that’s dried fruits, brine, sweet malt and peppery spice. Fat but avoids being overly sweet as the mid palate gradually turns dry followed by a subtle bitterness that refreshes and balances the whisky well. Finishes with good length followed by a persistent warm, spicy aftertaste. 59% Alc./Vol
