2000 Chateau Marquis de Terme

Margaux, Bordeaux,
$94. 00

$1128.00 Dozen
Closure: Cork

Château Marquis de Terme is not a classic Margaux wine. Although it has the same elegance and complexity, it has its own characteristically powerful and assertive style. Château Marquis de Terme lies partly on the plateau of Cantenac and partly on that of Margaux. It is this double geographical identity that explains its difference in style. Austere in their youth, Marquis de Terme wines only reveal their true style after several years in the bottle.

Tasting Note: The only vintage after 1996 that merits attention from serious wine lovers, the 2000 Marquis de Terme has a dense, murky ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of berry fruit, earth, licorice, and new oak. Medium-weight with good concentration and purity, it is much more developed than most 2000s. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2015. 87 points
