1999 Yarra Burn Pinot Noir

A lot was expected from this wine, and a lot was not delivered. Medium body crimson colour, with mauve edges. On the nose, some game and toasted oak aromas, with cherry, spice and earth end notes. The palate has weight, but lacks power and creates a straightforward impression, without great complexity or persistence. Fine grained soft tannins. Cherry, spice and plum aftertaste.
