Beginning with the 1962 vintage, 'The Signature' wines of Yalumba have saluted the very best of the vintage. They have also acknowledged the skills and dedication of people who have enhanced the traditions and culture of Yalumba. This year’s Signature pays tribute to former Yalumba Chairman and Director, John Edward Heine.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from some of oldest Barossa Cabernet and Shiraz resources, producing small volumes of intensely powerful fruit. The wine has been matured in French and American oak for 22 months. Very deep crimson colour. Aroma of cedar, vanilla, toasted oak, dark chocolate, plum and spice. Mouthfilling palate with flavours of spice, blackpepper and cedar overlaid with vanilla and liquorice. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste of spice, liquorice and mocca.
