The colour is virtually opaque with a black crimson hue. Aroma of very ripe plum, confectionary and liquorice allsorts, followed by vanilla spice and a tarry end note. The palate flavours are relatively strong but without the promise of the nose. Flavours of stewed plum and spice emerge. Very firm tannin structure which lingers all the way through the aftertaste.

Retasted: Opaque, black crimson colour. Aroma of very ripe plum, confectionary and liquorice allsorts followed by notes of vanilla, spice and tar. A very impressive nose. The palate does not deliver the flavour profile that the nose implies. Flavours of stewed plums and spice are relatively short. Very firm dry lingering tannins, which persist long into the aftertaste.
