Notes sourced from Wolf Blass

The fruit was sourced from some of the oldest, low yielding shiraz vineyards in South Australia. The Barossa Valley (44%), McLaren Vale (41%) and Langhorne Creek (10.5%) are renowned for their quality and suitability to this variety.
After crushing and de-stemming, fermentation was commenced in traditional open top fermenters before being transferred to new American (50%) and French(50%) oak hogsheads (300 Lt.) to complete its ferment. The wine then spent 22 months extended maturation in the same oak.

Tasting Note:
The 1999 Wolf Blass Brown Label Shiraz is a vibrant deep red colour. The bouquet has lifted blackberry fruit with hints of pepper and spice, and supporting chocolatey oak. The palate is rich with sweet berry fruit, subtle oak and a long lingering finish. This is a wine of opulence and complexity. Cellar 10 years and beyond.
