Notes sourced from Wild Duck Creek Estate.

Produced from grapes grown on the original 5 acre vineyard named after winemaker David Anderson’s father. It was planted in 1980 with Cabernet Sauvignon (85%), Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and a little Petit Verdot. In this part of Heathcote the soils are acidic, the vines shallow rooted and cropping is at 1.5 to 2 tons per acre. The intensity thus produced sometimes allows the pressings to be removed, fermented and bottled seperately. The wine was matured for 18 months in substantially new French oak hogsheads and bottled without filtration. 13.5% alcohol volume.
