1999 The Hills Pinot Noir
Medium body, brick red colour. The nose is restrained with aroma of mocca, stewed fruit, leather, and spice emerging. The palate flavours are straightforward with cherry spice dominant, followed by some stalky green end palate flavours, which persist onto the aftertaste. Very firm dry tannin structure- far too firm for pinot. Cellar 2-3 years to allow the wine to soften.

A very ordinary Pinot. Medium body, brick red colour with tawny brick red hue, showing far too much advanced bottle age. The nose is restrained, with notes of leather, earth, stewed fruit and spice emerging with a trace of cherry. The palate flavours are green, stalky with liquorice and earth flavours emerging. The tannins are very dry and overwhelm what fruit there is.
Pass.
