Big Bob McLean thrust a glass of this wine under our noses at Wine Australia, and even with all the commotion of a big crowd, we were impressed – the pre release sample tasted in the absence of a crowd, and in the tranquillity of an ‘exam room’ tasted even better.

Tasting Note: The colour is almost opaque, with very deep crimson heart, followed by a brick red hue. Superb, perfumed nose – confectionery, liquorice and plum over a strong violet background. The palate is mouth filling, a concentrate of plum and black pepper over layers of spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. Outstanding length and depth. Velvet smooth tannins, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste of plum, liquorice, vanilla and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2005-2006).
Alc/Vol 14%
