A very well made wine, but without the depth of complexity of past vintages. Very deep crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Aroma of liquorice allsorts, spice, blackcurrant and cedar. On the palate, the blackcurrant Cabernet fruit flavour is to the fore, followed by spice and liquorice. There is a faint herbal layer, but acceptable. Fine grained tannins, blackcurrant, spice aftertaste. Cellar 2 - 3 years. (2003 - 2004)
