Made by winemaker Lindsay McCall, we have to say that this wine is one of his less successful efforts. Partial whole bunch fermentation and Burgundian oak have been used in the creation of this wine.
Light, brick red colour, with broadish brick red hue. Aroma of toasted oak, cherry and spice, followed by a hint of stalk, showing good varietal character. The palate flavours are light, with stalky cherry flavours present, over a subtle oak background. The structure is lean, with slightly firmish tannins and soft acidity, followed by an aftertaste of stewed fruit and stalk.Cellar 1-2 years (2003-2004).Alc/Vol: %.
