BACKGROUNDPenfolds winemakers regard this wine as second only to Yattarna. Made entirely from Chardonnay, grown at Gumeracha and Piccadilly in the Adelaide Hills. The wine was fermented in fine grained French oak and spent 9 months on yeast lees.

VINTAGE CONDITIONSThe weather remained cool throughout the growing and maturation period. Ripening conditions were near perfect.

TASTING NOTEBrilliant, pale straw colour. A light wine, restrained with subtle oak, lemon and grapefruit aroma, over end notes of melon and fig, followed by some butterscotch. On the palate hints of toasted oak, followed by citrus and grapefruit. A style very reminiscent of the Petaluma Piccadilly Chardonnay. Clean crisp acidity, subtle yeast lees, with some toasted oak after flavours. Cellar 4-5 years.
