An impressive red. Very deep crimson, brick red colour. Aroma of chocolate, spice, vanilla, earth, truffle, cedar and blackcurrant. An excellent sniff! The palate is tightly structured but will evolve, flavours of chocolate, blackcurrant and spice emerge followed by a faint herbaceous trace which is acceptable. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance – aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant, with a touch of leafiness reappearing. Cellar 3-4 years.
