1999 Margan Shiraz

Region: Hunter Valley, New South WalesA very inexpensive wine, made from dryland grapes grown in the Hunter Valley. Very deep crimson colour with mauve edges. The nose is very appealing with aromas of spice and stewed fruit, over a layer of liquorice and toasted oak. The palate displays excellent weight and length with flavours of liquorice, toasted oak and plum, followed by subtle, earthy back palate flavours. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by a long plum and spice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
