First tasted, December 2002:
Opaque black crimson brick red colour. Aroma of cedar and violets, followed by end notes of chocolate and truffle. The palate flavours are simpler than those of past vintages and that is part of vintage variation. Flavours of stewed plum and cedar emerge over a background of liquorice. Fine, firmish dry tannins, with stewed fruit aftertaste.
