An outstanding Chardonnay, showing more Australian character than the current release Mount Mary. Bright deep straw colour. Lifted nose, with aroma of cashews, biscuit and yeast lees, followed by a hint of butterscotch, over a layer of melon, fig and spicy oak. The palate displays excellent depth and concentration, although it starts off relatively restrained. Flavours of spice, hazelnut, almonds, melon and fig, which blossom on the palate in a power wave, reminiscent of top Pinot Noir. Clean finish, with perfect balance and acidity. Exceptionally long aftertaste.
