1999 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

An impressive Coonawarra, that carries its reputation very well indeed. Opaque crimson colour, with black centre. Superb nose, classic Katnook, with its sophisticated layers of violets, spice, cedar and blackcurrants. The palate structure is excellent, with abundant flavours of dark chocolate, spice, cedar and blackcurrants. There is the faintest trace of leaf and cigar box, but it is very restrained and does not detract from the ripe fruit flavours. Perfect balance, fine grained firmish tannins, followed by long aftertaste of leaf, cedar and blackcurrant. Cellar 4-5 years.
