A refined style, vintaged from vines planted in 1961 and 1893. Opaque black crimson colour, with purple mauve hue. Superb aroma, with nuances of violets, vanilla, plum, spice, blackpepper and earth. The palate structure is light, and lighter in body than the nose suggests. Palate flavours of leather, stewed fruit and blackpepper, followed by spice and earth back palate flavour. Very good length. Fine lingering tannins, followed by an aftertaste of earth, spice and liquorice.
