Medium weight crimson mauve purple colour. Aroma of stewed fruit, cherry and raspberry with youthful inky spice and vanilla end notes. The palate starts off well - with inky pepper flavours to the forefront, but is spoiled by a hint of cod liver flavour that is hard to reconciliate. Fine grained, soft tannins with aftertaste of cherry, mixed berries and cod liver oil.

Retasted: March 2001

A quaffing red. Medium to light weight. Crimson mauve colour. Aroma of smokey bacon, blackberry followed by inky spice end note. The palate is short. Flavours of stewed fruit. Firmish tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, liquorice and spice. Drink.
