The planting of Zinfandel vines was inspired after James Irvine’s daughter Joanne had a stint making Zin in Sonoma Valley, California. Upon her return to Australia, 1.7 acres of vines were grafted across to Zinfandel. This wine has also a small portion of Merlot blended with it. Brick red colour with tawny hue. Medium body. Aroma of stewed fruit and leather, spice and liquorice, with just a touch of prune and tea leaf emerging. Dry tannins. Aftertaste of leather, earth and prune.
