1999 Hollick Coonawarra Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Medium weight with crimson red colour. This wine needs a few years to come together and develop some bottle complexity. On first impressions the wine is only satisfactory, however, after a prolonged exposure, and allowing the wine to warm up, it does have some redeeming qualities. Aroma of stewed fruit, cedar and plum. The palate does not have the depth of flavour that one expects from the Coonawarra/Limestone Coast districts. Short structure with stewed fruit, spice and cedar flavours. Fine grained tannins, with lingering stewed fruit and cedar aftertaste.
