The colour of this wine is disturbing – being brick red, for a 1999 vintage is indicative of a short life ahead of it. Medium body. Aroma of stewed fruit, spice, earth and truffle over a layer of chocolate, spice and liquorice allsorts. The palate comes as a surprise, with generous weight and mouthfeel. Flavours of ripe plum, dark chocolate, spice and plum. Fine grained tannins, followed by a long aftertaste of plum, dark chocolate and leather. Cellar 1 – 2 years. (2002 – 2003)
