Ken Helm is a Canberra based winemaker, however, when frosts played havoc with his vintage, he sourced fruit from a more reliable area and applied his cool climate winemaking expertise, in the hope, no doubt, to improve his cash flow, and secondly to produce an interesting wine. We think Ken has failed on both counts. Medium body, crimson, brick red colour. The nose heralds the bad news - medicinal aroma over sour fruit notes and blackpepper. The palate is short, with mint and medicinal flavours persisting. Hard, with little depth. Dry tannins, followed by medicinal sour fruit aftertaste. Drink or pass!
