1999 Hamilton Ewell Stonegarden Grenache Shiraz

A top example of the blend. Bright crimson colour, with crimson mauve hue. Medium body. Delightful aroma of violets, vanilla, spice, plum and blackpepper. The palate is much fuller than the body suggests, with generous, mouthfilling flavours of raspberry, liquorice and spice, followed by a layer of blackpepper and sweet ripe plum. Fine grained tannins, excellent length and persistence, followed by very long raspberry, liquorice and spice aftertaste.
