Deep crimson brick red colour. Appealing nose, almost perfumed, with aroma of violets, spice, mulberry and dark chocolate. The palate has weight, but without the concentration of Fox Creek Shiraz. It would seem as if McLaren Vale and Merlot are not the most successful of combinations, but having said that, as always there are exceptions. Flavours of confectionery, spice and blackcurrant. Fine grained, soft tannins, warm back palate, with very long spice and blackpepper aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
