1999 Evans & Tate Barrique 61 Cabernet Merlot

This wine has been made from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, and matured in one year old French barriques. Opaque crimson mauve colour. Lifted nose with aroma of spice, mulberry and liquorice- very impressive. On the palate the primary mulberry fruit flavours are dominant and compliment the blackcurrant and liquorice, spice end palate flavours. Fine grained soft tannins, perfect balance and very long aftertaste. A well structured wine- cellar for 3-5 years.
