1999 Elderton Ashmead Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

A wine with a Cabernet tannin structure that is too assertive. Very deep crimson colour, with deep crimson, brick red hue. Aroma of earth, leather and cedar, followed by a hint of tea leaf and mint. The palate structure is too tight, with the tannin grip overwhelming the fruit. Moderate length, with flavours of chocolate mocha followed by vanilla and dark chocolate. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, old leather and dark chocolate.
