Soft tannins, however, the acid levels are a touch high, followed by an aftertaste of stewed fruit, cherry, spice and toasted oak. Cellar 2-3 years.

Retasted

Time is going to be more generous with this wine than the ranking indicates, however, with the rating system that we use, it is the first set of ratings that gets the numbers assigned to it, as it would be impossible to re taste every wine over a 2-3 day period. The Dromana Estate Pinot Noir had developed very well over the second day, which fairs well for its cellaring potential.Light, brick red colour with some deep crimson edges. The wine has distinct varietal aroma, with a good counterpoint between fruit and game. Flavours of earth, game, leather and spice are juxtaposed by strawberry and cherry notes. The palate lacks the power of the top Pinot Noir, but displays good character of earth and cherry. Acid levels are a touch light, soft tannins, followed by a cherry, wild berry and toasted oak aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
