1999 De Bortoli Wild Vine Chardonnay

The marketing and packaging departments have both been hard at work on this wine with its new totally wrapped around plastic label - no not just an ordinary label, but a plastic skin over the entire bottle. This creates the illusion of a printed glass bottle.Bright straw colour with a green tinge. The nose shows aromas of spice and cinnamon with peach and tropical fruits submerged under the oak. The palate is full bodied with the fruit reasserting itself and driving the wine with flavour of peach and melon. Good balance just a trace of coarseness on the back palate, followed by peach, tropical fruit and cinnamon aftertaste. A well made commercial wine.
