The wine was made at Hanging Rock winery by John Ellis from grapes grown near Ballarat. Bright crimson colour. Medium body. The nose is very appealing, almost perfect with notes of stewed plum and strawberry jam notes. On the palate, there is evidence of some stalky flavours, followed by stewed plum, spice and strawberry jam. Firmish tannins, a touch dry, followed by an aftertaste of stewed plum and sour cherry.
