1999 Charles Melton Laura Shiraz

The Laura wine growing area is located in the Southern parts of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. The grapes were sourced from wine growers Broadbent, Brenton and Clegget. The wine displays brick red crimson colour. Medium weight with aroma of ripe plum, toasted oak, liquorice and spice, with the toasted oak component being quite dominant. On the palate, flavours of toasted oak and liquorice, over a background of very ripe plum and just a trace of tarriness on the backpalate. Fine grained, soft tannins, followed by long vanilla, spice, blackpepper, ripe plum and toasted oak aftertaste. Cellar 2 – 3 years. (2003 – 2004)
