Winemaker Mike Familo and Robin Moody have produced an interesting Shiraz. Totally opaque, crimson mauve colour. On the nose, the aroma of charred oak, liquorice, blackberry and blackpepper provide the wine with distinct varietal character. The start of the palate is on the lean side, but in part that is due to the youthfulness of the wine, however, it quickly turns to reveal a very peppery back palate which is followed by fine dry tannins and a very long aftertaste of plum, stewed fruit and liquorice. Cellar 4-5 years. Stocks are extremely limited.
