1999 Brokenwood Cricket Pitch Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

This is a more subtle wine than would be normally expected from a fresh young wine made from these two pungent grape varieties.Bright straw colour. Delicate grassy, herbaceous nose with some spice and green pear aromas. On the palate an interesting if somewhat unusual counterpoint between tropical fruit and green pears, followed by some spice and pineapple end palate flavours with nuances of cinnamon in the background. Good length, clean finish with aftertaste of green pears and spice. Cellar 1-2 years.
