Frank Potts, founder of Bleasdale winery proved himself capable of designing and building practically anything. Before becoming an acclaimed vigneron, Frank had constructed a bullock dray, a barge, a water-mill , a wine vat, a huge wine press, even his own piano, and was already a talented boat builder. This wine is a tribute to one of his numerous nautical creations named the "Petrel" which he built in 1840.

Tasting Notes: An excellent wine from Bleasdale. Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. Perfumed nose of vanilla, spice, ripe plums and cedar. Mouthfilling palate flavours with spice, blackberry, blackpepper, vanilla and dark chocolate dominant. Fine grained tannins with exceptionally long aftertaste of liquorice and stewed plum.
