1999 Bleasdale Frank Potts Dry Red

An outstanding follow up to the 1998 Frank Potts. The 1999 vintage sees a change in the blend, with the introduction of Shiraz, whereas the 1998 was a ‘Bordeaux blend’. Made from a blend of 76% Cabernet, 15% Shiraz and 9% Malbec. Very deep brick red colour, almost opaque with a mauve crimson edge. Excellent nose with aroma of chocolate, spice, confectionary and cedar with end notes of blackcurrant and liquorice. The palate displays depth and concentration of flavour but not to the degree of the 1998. Fine grained, dry firmish tannins. Excellent length. Perfect balance followed by a very long aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and plum. Cellar 4 – 5 years.
