1999 Beringer Napa Valley Chardonnay

This wine is being imported by Beringer Blass, who are the new Australian owners of the Napa Valley company. The wine has spent 8 months on lees, thus adding to its complexity. Bright, golden colour, showing bottle age. Dominant aroma of yeast lees, followed by notes of hazelnut and almond. The palate has a creamy texture, with flavours of yeast lees and citrus, over a smoky almond background. Moderate length, soft acid finish, followed by citrus, smoky lees and almond aftertaste.
