1999 Barossa Valley Estate Spires Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

For the second year in a row, value for money, this wine is going to be hard to beat. Outstanding youthful crimson mauve purple colour. Delightful lifted nose of blackpepper and cinnamon finishing with mixed crushed berries. The palate is perhaps just a touch lighter than the 1998 but only a touch, and hardly worth worrying about, particularly after the second glass. Youthful, yet mouthfilling flavours of ripe plums, spice, cinnamon and liquorice. Impressive length, fine grained soft tannins, followed by a plum, cinnamon, pepper end flavour. Cellar 1-2 years.
