A blend of 60% Sangiovese, 10% Sagrantino, 10% Barbera, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet. The vineyards are located near the Commune of Bevagna, Arquata in the Montelfalco zone in the central region of Umbria.The grapes are hand harvested and vinified at separate times. The skins are macerated during fermentation and stirred twice a day for 10 minutes for the first couple of days and then once a day for 5 minutes for the final phase. The wine is aged in oak casks for a period of 12 months before bottling.
Try With: Spicy sausages, mushroom dishes and medium cheese.

TASTING NOTE : Crimson colour with brick red hue. Medium body. Aroma of spice, earth and truffle followed by a hint of stewed plum. Moderate palate length with flavours of earth, truffle and spice emerging. The tannins are fine and quite dry and last well into the aftertaste. Earth, spice and confectionary after flavour.
