Bright straw colour. Intense, complex and aromatic nose, filled with the aromas of toasted oak, yeast lees and cashews with a hint of butterscotch and melon fruit in the background. The palate has good weight and concentration with distinct toasted almond, oak, biscuit and cashew flavours encasing the mouth. Rich buttery texture. Mouth filling with very long and persistent aftertaste of cashew and almond with a final touch of aniseed on the end. This wine was made with the assistance of one of Australian best wine makers - Giaconda's Rick Kinzbrunner. Cellar 3-5 years.

RETASTED 13/02/2000: A generous, full bodied style. This wine was made under the watchful eye of Ric Kinzbrunner of Giaconda fame, and in many ways resembles the Giaconda style, yet without the price tag.Brilliant deep straw colour. Complex, layered nose with aromas of yeast lees, butterscotch, almond, toasted oak and cashews. Mouthfilling palate flavours with plenty of complexity, which is in part due to the wild yeast used for the ferment. Flavours of toasted almond, nut and yeast lees. A winemakers wine. Excellent length and persistence of flavour, followed by long smoky oak and toast aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
