1998 Wilson Vineyard Gallery Series Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot. Medium body with bright crimson colour and mauve edge. The nose is lifted with a dominant minty aroma, followed by notes of earth, blackcurrant, cedar and leather. The palate is dominated by mint and blackcurrant flavours with the leather and earth components remaining in the background. Fine grained tannins, quite dry and lingering, followed by a leather, earth and mint aftertaste. A well constructed wine, a touch tight at the moment. Cellar 3 years as a minimum and 5-8 years to fully develop.
