Brilliant deep straw colour. The nose is very reminiscent of Champagne base, with its distinctive aroma of biscuit, cashew and yeast lees top notes which support some slightly oxidized middle notes and just a touch of citrus. The palate is a little lighter and less complex than the nose suggests. Biscuit, yeast lees and cashews flavours are evident, but rather subtle. Soft acid finish, followed by a long aftertaste of biscuit and yeast lees. Cellar 3-4 years.

Retasted: March 2001

Bright pale gold colour, showing early bottle development. Aroma of toasted honey and biscuit over a background of hazelnut and cashew, with subtle hints of flor yeast. The palate flavours are refined with the barrel ferment characters held in balance to the fruit. Flavours of flor yeast, nut, melon and fig. Good length and aftertaste, with acid levels dropping out. Enjoy now.
