1998 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon

The Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon makes the best of the two super premium red wine growing districts in Western Australia - Margaret River and Mount Barker. Made from a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Shiraz and 2% Malbec. Magnificent deep crimson purple colour verging on being opaque. The nose is a delight and its complexity is in part due to the use of French and American Oak casks, as well as combining barrel ferment aroma together with extended post fermentation skin contact. Lifted aromas of vanilla, spice, cedar, blackcurrant, ripe summer berries and liquorice all sorts makes for sniffing pleasure. The palate is mouthfilling with classic ripe Cabernet flavour. Not a hint of any green or vegetable flavour - just the way it should be - excellent palate. Stocks are very limited.
