1998 The Wilson Vineyard Mandala Chardonnay

The wine we tasted was a pre release sample from Wilson Vineyard and we must say was somewhat of a disappointment. Bright pale straw colour. Delicate nose with aromas of tropical fruit and grapefruit, followed by a hint of pear. The palate flavours are light and lack persistence. Some yeast lees characters finally emerge, followed by nutty overtones and a hint of flor. A light unwooded style. Cellar 1-2 years.
