1998 Tatachilla Clarendon Vineyard Merlot

Tatachilla’s Clarendon Vineyard is located in the foothills between McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. This is an outstanding Merlot. Opaque crimson purple colour. Superb nose - almost perfumed with pronounced aromas of mulberry and spice. The palate is equally impressive, with again distinct mulberry and spice flavours over a dark chocolate background. Fine grained, firmish tannins, perfect balance followed by a very long spice, mulberry aftertaste. A delightful example of Merlot that maximises its intense ripe fruit flavours. Cellar 3-5 years. To date winner of one Trophy, two Gold medals and one Silver. Stocks very limited.
